Offer Retention Rate Explained
It is possible to configure a retention rate at the offer level. This is an optional setting, so there is no need to configure it unless required.
Every time an event is received via the postback URL, the system checks whether a retention rate has been set for the offer. If it has, a "virtual dice roll" is performed. Based on the result, if the outcome falls below the configured retention percentage, the event will be retained. If the outcome is above the threshold, the event will be processed normally.
The higher the number of incoming events, the closer the actual retention rate will get to the configured percentage, since this is a probabilistic mechanism.
Advanced Configuration
There is also an advanced setting that allows you to define a number of events and a time window.
Minimum count: This is the number of events not affected by the retention percentage configured. These events will be counted at the beginning of the period.
In period: This is the period from now to the past that will be considered to warrant that the number of events configured in "Minimum count" won't be affected by the retention period.
