How to create a conversion rate (CR) rule

Go to Tools > Automation rules.

In the top right corner of the Automation rules list page, click on +Create.

This will redirect you to the conversion rule creation page:

Fill in the mandatory fields:

  • Automation information

    • Name: name of the rule

    • Status:

      • Enabled

      • Disabled

    • Automation rule type: select "Conversion ratio"

  • Type & mode

    • Mode:

      • Auto: if you select this Mode, you need to manually add all the offers you want to be affected by this rule

      • Manual: if you select this Mode, you need to define the rules for choosing the offers you want to be affected by this rule

  • Scope

    • If you have selected Mode = Auto

      • Matches offers from all advertisers: you can configure whether to include or exclude offers from selected advertisers. If no advertisers are selected, offers from all advertisers will be considered.

      • Matches offers containing any tags: you can configure whether to include or exclude offers with the selected tags. If no tags are specified, offers with any tag configured will be considered.

      • Excluded offers: you can select the offers you want to exclude from this rule, even if they match the defined scope.

      • Monitoring level: choose the granularity of the rule

        1. Offer: the rule will monitor the global offer CR

        2. Affiliate: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate - Offer

        3. Affiliate source: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate source - Offer

        4. Affiliate source subsource: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate source & subsource - Offer

      • Event type monitoring level:

        1. All: the rule will consider every event to calculate the CR

        2. Payable: the rule will consider only the payable events to calculate the CR

        3. Select: if this option is chosen, a combo (Event types) will be shown with all the configured events typed. Then, it will be mandatory to select one. The rule will consider the specific event to calculate the CR.

    • If you have selected Mode = Manual

      • Included offers: you can select the offers you want to include in this rule.

      • Monitoring level: choose the granularity of the rule

        1. Offer: the rule will monitor the global offer CR

        2. Affiliate: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate - Offer

        3. Affiliate source: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate source - Offer

        4. Affiliate source subsource: the rule will monitor the CR for every Affiliate source & subsource - Offer

      • Event type monitoring level:

        1. All: the rule will consider every event to calculate the CR

        2. Payable: the rule will consider only the payable events to calculate the CR

        3. Select: if this option is chosen, a combo (Event types) will be

  • Conditions

    • Time period to analyse: configure the period from 1 to 24 hours to calculate the CR.

    • Minimum events required: the minimum number of events in the configured "Time period to analyse" is necessary to consider the rule valid.

    • Minimum clicks required: The minimum number of clicks in the configured "Time period to analyse" is required to consider the rule valid.

    • Minimum CR: this is the minimum valid CR. If the CR is lower than the value configured, an issue will be created in the issues center.

    • Maximum CR: this is the maximum valid CR. If the CR is higher than the value configured, an issue will be created in the issues center.

Click Save, and the conversion rate rule will be created.

Issues center

All the alerts generated by the conversion ratio rules will create an issue in the issues center:

There you can see:

  • State: the status of the issue. By default, all issues are created in the status "For review," but later, you can manually change it to "Acknowledged" by clicking on the action button.

  • Issue name: the name of the conversion rate rule that created the issue.

  • Entity: link to the offer affected by the rule.

  • Created at: date and hour when the issue was created

  • Trigger: the reason why the issue has been created

  • Actions: change the status from "For review" to "Acknowledged."
