The Test Link tool allows you to verify that the end-to-end tracking integration is working correctly before sending live traffic. You can use it to test both the Affiliate postback integration and the Advertiser postback integration.
⚠️ Important: Any conversion generated via the Test Link tool will appear in the Advertiser Events report but will not be counted in general Stats or attributed to Affiliates.
Testing the Affiliate postback integration
Use this flow to verify that Aftrad correctly sends a postback notification to the Affiliate when a conversion occurs.
Prerequisite: The Affiliate's postback URL must be configured before running this test.
Go to the specific Offer, then the AFFILIATES tab.
Click the three dots next to the Affiliate and select Test link to open the Test Link tool.
Choose External test mode.
Copy the Tracking Link and send it to the Affiliate.
The Affiliate uses the link on their platform and sends a test link URL back to you.
Paste this URL into the tool and click Begin test. A new tab opens showing:
Affiliate Click ID
Event ID (internal click ID)
Available Payout Rules
Select the payout rule (e.g., Default) and click Trigger Postback.
Once the postback is processed, the Affiliate receives a notification via their postback URL. The result is shown automatically in the tool.
Testing the Advertiser postback integration
Use this flow to verify that Aftrad correctly receives a postback from the Advertiser and attributes the conversion.
Prerequisites:
Create a fictional internal Affiliate for test purposes.
The Advertiser must be registered in Aftrad.
Share the Aftrad Postback URL with the Advertiser so they can configure their platform.
Create a private Offer with no targeting restrictions, using the Advertiser's Tracking URL. Make sure the
{click_id}macro is included in the agreed parameter so the Advertiser can send it back in the postback.
In the Offer's AFFILIATES tab, locate the internal test Affiliate and click Test Link.
Select Internal test and click Begin test. A new tab opens showing the Affiliate Click ID, Event ID, and available payout rules.
Choose Go directly to offer tracking link and click Go to offer. This sends the click to the Advertiser's Tracking URL.
The Advertiser fires their postback to the Aftrad Postback URL with the
click_id. Once received and processed, the result appears automatically in the tool.
